Tea-Rex

I love good tea. But often I let the tea steep too long. Since my cousin had the same problem, we started building a tea maker together. Since neither of us had any experience building electronic hardware, it was a pretty fun project. We first tried to build it with a hacked water kettle and using an infraret thermometer. The machine was supposed to put in a tea strainer and take it out at the perfect moment. After some experimentation, we changed our approach and used a hacked induction cooker. Right now we are designing our third electric board, as we made mistakes with the previous two versions. Now we are very close to completion. I'll explain in detail how we built it once we have a working version. Here are some impressions of our work:
